Airports
Three airports service the Santa Rosa Beach/Grayton Beach area: Panama City-Bay County International Airport, Fort Walton Beach-Valparaiso Airport, and the Pensacola Regional Airport.
Panama City - It is easier and faster to get from this airport to the beach than the other two; however, ticket prices tend to be much higher than Pensacola. Look for flight deals early.
Fort Walton Beach - About an hour's drive to the beach through Destin (Santa Rosa/Grayton are on the other side of Destin). Prices are comparable to Panama City. This airport is located on the Air Force base, so you can see lots of cool military planes when you're taking off and landing.
Pensacola - Tickets into Pensacola are historically much less expensive than into the other two airports, but be prepared for a long drive. Although your map says it is 60 miles, plan for about two hours - you have to get through all of the Fort Walton and Destin beach traffic. Air Tran often has great deals into this airport - we suggest you sign up for their newsletter to receive notice so you can book before their sales end, and save yourself several hundred dollars per ticket.
Note - Car rental facilities are available at all three airports. We highly recommend you book your car well in advance as this is a holiday weekend and reservations go fast!
Accommodations
Caroline and Kai have reserved two large houses on Grayton Beach. Each has eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and a pool. If you are interested in staying in one of these with the wedding party and other guests, please contact Caroline. First come, first served! The fee on these homes per person comes out to much less than even a three-day weekend at a hotel would, and both are walking distance to the beach.
